Auer-Control System
Posted: 10 Nov 2006 at 14:16 GMT
Has anybody seen in person or used the Auer-Control 16 meter "camera on a stick" system?

I am very intersted in this system. Especially since it looks like they are making it available to sale.

What I have seen from that web site is the PRICE and on some other sites the "best opportunity in the world" That looks like a pyramidal selling kind or " dream like" kind of selling.
Very attractive in a merchant way - lots of dreams abilities -

Just have a look at this carbon pole here : it's on google under R&G
lnk.nu/shop.ezentrum.de/bx6
This address is from Michel thoby and his test is there: michel.thoby.free.fr/Poleposition/Poleposition.ht...
Read all the preview on Michel site and check by yourself if a few hundred dollars pole (6 meters high) is not enough for testing you skill in the field.

Before buying a "clark mast" a new truck and a pan & tilt motor head that ignores perspective lens point (old nodal)

Good search an good luck anyway.

Hi,
They want ~£10k +vat for a 12m system, the mast, stand and a normal pan tilt remote head will cost around £2.5k from original sources, so that's something to think about.
Very few remote heads are able to position cameras in relation to the entrance pupil, the only one I know of is the pix orb from peace river studios:
www.peaceriverstudios.com/pixorb/index.html
which is what vrway used on a clark mast for their high viewpoint shots of the Milan Duomo: vrm.vrway.com/projects/immervision/duomo/

There are some US suppliers of similar kit such as www.floatograph.com and the quirky www.propole.com
Here's a UK kit supplier with a US partner :

Wow! Thanks for all the response. After looking at all the options, I noticed that either everybody is using the same pneumatic pole (column) or it is a common design. And that Auer's fee is really in their control box and not the tripod/column. Especially ater seeing the tripod for less than $6000US.

You guys saved me a chunk of change.

Thanks
RevMark

PS: I am leaning toward the ElevatedPhotos.com system.
