Olympus xd card and Olympus camera

Even after a short time spent looking at this website I realise 2 things
1) my original question of why my Olympus camera with xd card is not taking panoramic pictures when in panoramic mode. Is now of no consequence, whatsoever. Why have I wasted money on this ??? Stupid me. But even so any answers have x-825 and 512mb card and now 1 gb card all with panoramic function on the box . No results in Olympus Master.
2) That I can stitch together my photos taken in the Alps with far superior results to those in the past with above referenced Olympus program, is enough to bring tears of happiness to my eyes. Courtesy of Panorama studio. Is this the program of choice for the users here ?
Actually 3 things , I have just found a new way of life "the Panoramic photo ".

Welcome to the forum Shaun. Panorama functions on cameras often just name the photos differently to standard photos or put them in an individual folder, but you don't need this function, as long as you remember to have enough overlap for your stitcher to join the pics. The panorama mode doesn't actually take a 'panoramic picture' it takes a series of frames to stitch later using the same settings, so you don't get differences in exposure and white balance etc.
Panorama studio is just one of the hundreds of generic 'pano stitchers' for single row panos. A very popular stitching program among the pros is PTgui.
Are you wanting to make virtual images or just panoramas? ie 360 x 180 images or just generic panoramas.

I think after browsing some of the gallery I will want to produce some 360 degree images. But primarily I take a lot of landscapes photos(keen mountain walker) so will want to produce generic panoramas. The problem I had with my camera is I was taking photos in the panorama mode and when I put the images in Olympus master it was saying I had not taken a panoramic shot. I am going to take some pictures on my 8080 and upload them just to check if I have a problem with my camera! Thank you for the welcome.
