stitching--objects different sizes
Posted: 18 Aug 2008 at 0:11 GMT
Hi,

I followed the instructions for the lamp post test here: www.panoguide.com/howto/panoramas/panohead.jsp

But when I got the parallax to a minimum, I realized that the same object in the 1st sequence of photos is larger or positioned slightly off than in the 2nd sequence. I already adjusted for lens distortion and my camera was level.

So I'm wondering what went wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

It would be nice if you could upload some images somewhere so we could see exactly what the problem is. If you stitch the images in the usual way and output the result as a layered PSD file, you should find that the images match up correctly, with no distortion issues. It's then easy to assess the parallax by switching the top layer on and off.
