Hi, I guess due to the original thread
www.panoguide.com/forums/tipsntricks/3995/
which is now closed, Michael made a MK II thread suggesting that Bruce (irieman) may addapt or use a compass (like those for cars) to help in keep level an rotating around
(compass idea originally suggested by Kirk
www.panoguide.com/forums/qna/3061/?page=2
)

The two way bubble level seems more than adequate now that I have got used to working with this rig. If you start level - ie with the bubble level towards you and rotate with one hand while triggering the shutter via a radio link with the other the speed of rotation is such that you can keep the pod vertical and level very easily.

It even works on boats <www.bhphoto.biz/ARTEMIS/sail.html> and yes, before all you sharp eyes point it out, I do know that there is one big bad bit of masking on the rigging towards the bow - just haven't had time to re do it yet.

If any of you are also yotties then you will also know that we need more main halyard tension and that the leech is setting inside the backstay - that's the trouble with panos - your mistakes will find you out blush

Here is a variation. I find if I hold the monopod at head level I can brace the bracket against my head, which improves stability tremendously. The compass works great and the magnifying glass helps me see the plumb bubble. The only downside is the obscenely priced L bracket. angry
